The revamped rougher/Intermediate rolling mill and reducing/sizing mill of NISCO, for which CISDI provided plant design, successfully passed the hot load test on January 3, 2010 as scheduled, and the whole line is in operation on January 5. It took only 30 days from the shutdown on Dec. 5, 2009 till the operation restoration, setting a new record for shortest revamping period for similar projects in China (the former shortest reducing/sizing mill revamping record was 58 days).

Fully upgraded by the technical revamping, the technology and equipment of line has reached the world leading level, for example, Stein (France) intelligent combustion system for reheating furnace for efficient control of billet heating; Short stress mill design with alternate horizontal-vertical stand for roughing mill and intermediate rolling mill to allow torsion free rolling, contributing to better product surface quality and less failure rate; Morgan reducing/sizing mill and closed temperature control system for the finishing mill for higher product dimensional accuracy (deviation within ±0.1mm, ovality within 60%); the max. rolling speed is increased from 100m/s to over 112m/s, while the final rolling temperature is reduced to allow thermo-mechanical rolling for better internal property of product.

The management of NISCO spoke highly of CISDI on the startup ceremony on January 13, 2010 for its excellent performance in design and site service.
