On April 14, the China-Brazil Economic, Trade & Investment Forum and Enterprise Trade Fair, an event cosponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Brazil Development, Industry and Foreign Trade Ministry, made an opening in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

At the fair, ten Chinese enterprises signed USD 438 million worth of contracts and agreements on economic cooperation and trade with their Brazilian partners. CISDI inked two contracts, involving a total amount of USD280 million, on equipment supply to the new long product project with its Brazilian strategic partner CSN, becoming the biggest highlight of this economic and trade summit.    

 

CISDI has come among those Chinese engineering companies that have adventured overseas. In the Brazilian market in particular, CISDI has become an important partner to a host of local steelmakers, including Gerdau, CSN, MMX, GUSA and Cosipa, and successfully exported China’s steelmaking technology to this South American country.

 

On April 19, the name of CISDI was published on The ECONOMICA VALOR, the most prestigious economic newspaper in Brazil. In the report, CSN Chairman Mr. Benjamin extolled CISDI for “having the first-class technology in the iron & steel industry”, and believed the new cooperation project would lift CSN’s long product capacity to 1.50 million tons, thereby taking a considerable share in the local long product market.

 

The high recognition of the Brazilian media and steel industry fully evidence CISDI has become a renowned brand in the Brazilian Iron & Steel industry. In recent years, CISDI has partnered with a number of world-famous steelmakers, including ArcelorMittal, JFE and Severstal.
