The ironmaking project of Chongqing Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. consists of two 2,500m3 BFs and hot metal handling (without reladling) system. BFs and necessary supporting facilities were supplied by CISDI on EPC basis. BF No.2, occupying 0.5km2, was started on July 16, 2008 for construction and completed in 17 months.

 

The BF is the first one implemented with CISDI patented hot metal handling technology (handling by overhead crane without reladling), as well as other leading technologies such as PCI, dry bag filtering, TRT, closed soft water circulating system, top-firing hot stove, which is important to the energy-efficiency. All technologies and equipment for the BF are carefully proposed to ensure high operation reliability, product quality and low cost. The BF is leading among its similar types in China.
